All students participate in a comprehensive music class, where they build their musical literacy and appreciation. The curriculum incorporates the Kodály Methody and Orff-Schulwerk, vocal training, music reading and ear training, music history, music composition and improvisation, performance and movement, a study of music from cultures all over the world, and cross-curricular projects.
One important aspect of the Music Curriculum is the annual St. Dominic Show, a time-honored song and dance review in which all students participate. The preparation, rehearsal and performance of this show empowers each student to become comfortable in front of an audience and is a beloved St. Dominic tradition.
